Is there a part of your body that makes you feel out of proportion? Is this affecting your life, how you want to look and what you want to do?

You are not alone – I hear these words often. I am Dr Jane Paterson, a fully qualified, experienced and dedicated specialist female plastic surgeon in Melbourne.

My focus is on women’s cosmetic surgery needs. As a woman myself, I feel I have an understanding of what you want, and we can discuss your needs one-on-one in a confidential, yet open and relaxed atmosphere.

If you are realistic, cosmetic surgery is a very positive and rewarding step forward in your life. During your consultation I will provide a large range of before and after images so you can have a greater and clearer understanding of what kind of results you can expect to achieve.

How to choose the right surgeon for me?

Choosing the right plastic surgeon for you is a vital first step as this is one of the most important choices you will make in life. When considering your plastic surgeon it is important to ask yourself a few important questions:

  • Are they a qualified Plastic Surgeon and FRACS?
  • Are they an AHPRA member or ASAPS member?
  • Do you feel comfortable with them?
  • Can you ask questions and receive satisfactory answers?
  • Are all complications associated with the surgery explained?
  • What if something goes wrong, will my surgeon be there for me?
  • Can you share your goals and expectations with your surgeon?

A great indicator as to whether a surgeon is right for you is whether you feel comfortable discussing your needs with them. A doctor-patient relationship is fundamentally built on trust, and I strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible when discussing your needs or concerns. I am honest about all treatment processes, protocols, risks and possible complications and encourage all questions to be asked during the consultation.
